THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA - July 29, 2010
Digi-Key Corporation today announced that Cody Knutson was a recent recipient of an associate of applied science degree in Electronic Technology Marketing from Northland Community and Technical College. An employee since August 2003, Knutson is employed as a sales representative at Digi-Key.
The company-sponsored degree Knutson earned began with the completion of Technology I and II, 9- and 10-credit programs, which, when combined with 12 credits from Digi-Key-specified general education and business elective courses, resulted in an Electronic Technology Marketing diploma. After earning an additional 30 credits, a combination of 24 general education and six elective credits, Knutson was granted the AAS degree.
Digi-Key University (DKU) educational programs are the result of a partnership between Digi-Key and the Center for Outreach and Innovation at NCTC. The only prerequisite for participation in DKU educational programs is that the participant has been employed beyond Digi-Key's initial three-month introductory period.
According to Digi-Key President Mark Larson, the company's educational programs have been very successful for both Digi-Key and its participating employees. "Through these programs, Digi-Key has gained employees who are more knowledgeable and business savvy," he said. "They are also more confident, having gained enormous amounts of self-satisfaction from their accomplishments. We are very pleased to sponsor programs such as these that result in positive benefits for both the company and our employees."
