ISL8206M Power Conversion Modules

Renesas' ISL8206M is a series of power modules that are pin compatible to the ISL8201M. These high power DC/DC modules are simple and easy to use, making them ideal for a wide variety of applications. Additionally, the ISL8206M series lowers design and manufacturing risks while dramatically improving time to market.

The simplicity is in the family's "off-the-shelf" ease of use and unassisted implementation. The ISL8206M only requires bulk input and output capacitors and one resistor to program the output voltage, creating a complete high current power design that is ready for market.

This family of buck converters is packaged in a thermally enhanced compact (15mm x 15mm) over-molded QFN package that operates without a heat sink even at full load and overtemperature states. The package supports simple, reliable, and automated assembly, using standard surface-mount equipment. In addition, the lack of a required heat dissipation layer provides easy access to all pins, and the limited number of the external components reduces the PCB to a component layer and a simple ground layer.
