Renesas' quick solution is a reference design for checking water quality

Image of Renesas' Water Quality TesterRenesas' quick solutions feature a reference design for a water quality tester that utilizes the RL78/G11 allowing for quick detection of hazardous substances in water such as total dissolved solids (TDS). Utilizing an LCD display, the measured value will display on the design and can be saved to the device. The temperature can also be displayed. This solution features the RL78/G11 MCU, a temperature sensor, a TDS test probe, an LCD panel, and a power supply.

Features
  • Demo board includes the RL78/G11 MCU
  • Flash ROM size of the RL78/G11 is 16 KB and the RAM size is 1.5 KB
  • TDS and electrical conductivity (EC) can be measured
  • An 8-bit serial input/parallel output shift register chip drives the LCD panel display
  • Powered by two 1.5 V batteries
