The output from thermopiles will vary with both ambient and object temperatures. With the need to know the ambient temperature to calculate the object temperature, Amphenol standard thermopiles are supplied with an integrated thermistor for temperature compensation. There are options which can include customer specified thermistors or external temperature compensation without the internal thermistor.
