The Vishay MTPL-2516 planar transformers offer high power density in a low profile package. The MTPL-2516 series offers up to 300 W with less than 16.5 mm height. The package can be easily customized to meet design-specific requirements such as a special output voltage or center tapped winding with no tooling required. The winding construction used in this series is proprietary with a patent pending. The coil is over molded to protect the windings for ruggedized applications. This over molding enhances the dielectric capability which is 1500 VAC to the core and other windings. The MTPL transformer has a large surface area which aides cooling. Operating frequencies range from 100 kHz to 500 kHz but can be customized and extended higher if required. The split primary is flexible to allow for efficient 120 V or 380 V operation. The leakage inductance and other winding parasitic variation is minimal due to the planar coil construction. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +130°C with power derating above 105°C. The MTPL hybrid planar transformers are suitable for industrial, military, aerospace and medical applications.
